Events [September – December 2011]

Events are conducted every Friday afternoon as an endeavour to extend learning beyond the walls of the classroom through interaction between the students and professionals from diverse fields like art, design, history and economics to name a few. These events engage, involve and enable students to understand and interpret the complex socio- cultural context of architectural design. They inspire students to explore new ideas, undertake new initiatives, challenge preordained notions and strive to excel in their chosen fields. This dialogue between the academics and (practice) industry opens new avenues for inter- disciplinary research and collaborations.

Documentary Film Screenings related to art and architecture were held : Koyaanisqatsi, Helvetica, Mon Oncle, The Story of India, Visions of Space -Antonio Gaudi-God’s Architect and Koolhas Houselife.

Annual Student exhibition

Annual Student exhibition was held on the 9th & 10th April 2011 at the School of Architecture, RVCE, Bangalore. Mr. A V S Murthy, Secretary, RSST trust, Dr.Satyanarayana, Principal, RVCE, Mr. Vijay Sohoni, President, Council of Architecture, India & Dr. K S Anantha Krishna, Principal, RVSA presided over the inaugural function. Mr. Anjanlendaran, Sri Lanka Architect and Academician, was the Chief Guest. Local architectural fraternity – practicing architects & students and parents were the invitees.
